Since it came together in 2017, the DC the TWP CoP Washington DC Working Group has been an informal grouping bringing together development practitioners who work to ensure that development efforts better understand and engage with the local contexts in which we operate, applying a TWP approach. This is a volunteer group, consisting of individuals who have worked mainly, but not exclusively, in or with organisations that design and implement US Government funded development efforts. The DC Working Group objectives are learning, coordination, and advocacy of all things TWP. As part of this, the TWP COP DC Working Group has organised a wide variety of events and deveolped knowledge products, including, for example, a fireside chat with Chiefs of Party (COPs) from three USAID projects on operationalizing TWP as well as a discussion on integrating TWP in biodiversity projects.
Very sadly, as a result of the closure of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and the effect this has had on development programming, the DC Working Group has taken the decision to suspend formal operations, while the network intends to continue to come together in a more informal basis to discuss issues broadly related to TWP as well as to maintain a space of social solidarity and collaboration.
